Design

At the heart of the NorthStar header row units are two stripping rollers, each equipped with four stalk knives. The knives are manufactured with an exceptionally durable alloy steel and maintain a sharp edge for extra long life. The knives can be quickly adjusted to ensure optimum performance for several seasons. These knives are mounted to run parallel to each other and positively engage the stalk as the row unit cleanly pulls the ears towards the header trough. Hydraulically adjustable deck plates are one of the standard features that contribute to industry leading yield retention. At Geringhoff we believe that hydraulically driven deck plates are necessary to provide on the go adjustments to accommodate the ever changing conditions in your field during harvest.

The parallel cutting arrangement of the knife rolls goes well beyond a simple crimp and will slice through up to 98% of the stalk. The remaining stalk is evenly distributed across the field and well prepared for quick decomposition
